Oh wow.

I mean, clock-makers are great and all, obviously talented people, but it's not like they're making something people NEED -- uh, I mean, something people can quit any time they want to.

There's been a spate of Murdochesque tabloids getting their arses handed to them because of contempt of court recently. I hope this trend continues with the Express over this story, if it's remotely possible to hook 'em for it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3104088946474183171.post-71443823635094674632011-10-12T13:23:54.528+01:002011-10-12T13:23:54.528+01:00I wonder what the Express expect the police to do ...I wonder what the Express expect the police to do when someone has been killed and before the facts have been established. If they just released anyone claiming to be acting in self-defence then presumably any real murderer could get themselves released by making this claim.Philnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3104088946474183171.post-63162860260308392902011-10-07T19:32:08.122+01:002011-10-07T19:32:08.122+01:00He was initially arrested on suspicion of attempte...He was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Subsequently the allegation of cultivating illegal drugs came up. The latter allegation doesn't invalidate the former. I'm merely inferring that the Express is less interested in the case now the latter allegation has come up, because they have a history of moralising.

Nobody was shot in the spine here; the alleged burglar suffered non-life-threatening injuries to the leg (the spinal injury referred to in my post occurred in the Tony Martin case). All this was in the Express story. I agree it would not be funny if someone had been shot in the spine, though in any case I wasn't laughing at the shooting victim, but at the Express. It's pretty much my job.No Sleep 'Til Brooklandshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03326756018822759152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3104088946474183171.post-82457152954522207532011-10-07T19:12:46.695+01:002011-10-07T19:12:46.695+01:00I think maybe the Express changed the headline, no...I think maybe the Express changed the headline, not out of cowardice, but because the reason he was arrested was not what they thought is was.

Also, I'm a little bit of the opinion that it's not massively cool to 'laugh your tits off' where someone has been shot in the spine. Let's not forget that.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04467070727703277744noreply@blogger.com
