Huh.

And Anon makes a very good point; I hereby propose that the forms read Parent 1 and Parent A.Doctor_Fruitbathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09860117986003179149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3104088946474183171.post-54395789355525874792011-10-08T20:58:05.462+01:002011-10-08T20:58:05.462+01:00No-one seems to have mentioned the strife this is ...No-one seems to have mentioned the strife this is going to cause when we have to fill out an application. Do we fight it out over who gets to be 'Parent 1' or should we alternate? This is going to lead to arguments, and then probably divorce. Just what the PC Gay Mafia are after I'm sure!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3104088946474183171.post-70236504744353657172011-10-06T17:38:54.986+01:002011-10-06T17:38:54.986+01:00AARGGHH!

If society saw no difference between gay and straight and single parent families, then think how much nicer that would be!

rant over. thew, glad i got that out my system!sianandcrookedribhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00959715300131969670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3104088946474183171.post-30084737665618936692011-10-03T11:16:51.877+01:002011-10-03T11:16:51.877+01:00Seems strange nobody's pointed out that this a...Seems strange nobody's pointed out that this also accommodates the very many people who have legal guardians and others in a parent role who are not their biological mother and father. If you have two fathers, one of whom is your Dad and the other who donated genetic material and sends £10 every birthday, it might feel a lie, a betrayal or an inaccuracy to cast either character as one's official "Father" (and beyond feelings, many people will be genuinely uncertain about what to put). Parent 1 and Parent 2 broaden the scope far beyond gay parenting, it just makes more sense. The Goldfishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15213378454070776331noreply@blogger.com
